I use photography not only as a means of self-expression but also as a way to reconnect with nature and my inner spirituality. Whether I am in the woods, on the beach or walking in a meadow I can get lost in my thoughts and the splendor of nature; even when surrounded by the trappings of modern society.
My inspiration comes from the natural beauty around me and a deep desire to share it with the rest of the world. I feel privileged to be able to witness a sunrise over the ocean or an egret in search of its next meal. When I first started exploring photography I was in awe of the imagery of Ansel Adams and he is still one of my greatest influences.
Each photograph represents an infinitesimal time frame in my life which is preserved to bring countless hours of enjoyment to others. There is no better feeling as a photographer than having someone tell me that I have inspired them in some way; whether it is to rise early to catch the sun peeking over the horizon or sit patiently waiting for their favorite quarry to come into view for the perfect shot.
The following is a comment from someone who follows my work - "Love that your eye sees the amazing potential in the ordinary, and we all get to see it too!" I think that may be the best compliment I have ever received and is what I strive for in every shot I take.
